Why Klareco ?

At Klareco, we’re a fast-growing startup on a mission to accelerate the energy transition. We simplify energy management for businesses through innovative & data-driven solutions.

We work with major real estate players and help them take the lead in sustainability. If you’re eager to learn, grow, and make a real impact in a company that values initiative, creativity, and excellence, this is your place.

Why this role is exciting

  • You join a dynamic and ambitious team where proactivity, responsibility, and technical creativity are key.
  • You shape your role as you grow. Your strengths and ideas will directly influence the development of a new tech product that will transform energy management across Europe.
  • Flexible working arrangements: combination of on-site projects, office work (modern coworking spaces at Silversquare), and remote work.

Your mission

As Data & Energy Analytics Engineer, you are responsible for developing and expanding the data-analysis layer of Klareco’s energy efficiency platform.

Your main responsibilities include:

  • Connecting technical systems to the platform: Integrate building and process systems such as BMS, energy meters, and sensors into a central software environment.
  • Data quality & structuring: Clean, validate, and structure raw technical and energy data to ensure reliable analysis and reporting.
  • Developing analytical logic: Configure and develop algorithms to automatically detect anomalies, inefficiencies, abnormal consumption patterns, and optimization opportunities.
  • Energy performance insights: Translate building and process behavior into actionable indicators related to energy efficiency, operational performance, and cost reduction.
  • Platform development & scaling: Contribute to the continuous improvement of the platform by onboarding new sites, refining existing analyses, and ensuring data reliability and scalability.

What makes you a strong fit

  • Master’s degree in Software Engineering, Data Engineering, Computer Science, Civil/Energy Engineering, or a related technical field.
  • 3–5 years of hands-on experience in software development for data analysis, preferably working with time series data in a production environment.
  • Strong programming skills and experience building robust, maintainable code for data processing, analytics, and automation.
  • Proven experience with data pipelines: ingesting, cleaning, structuring, and validating data from multiple sources.
  • Experience translating analytical or operational requirements into scalable software and algorithms.
  • Familiarity with anomaly detection, performance monitoring, or analytics logic is a strong asset.
  • Comfortable working with imperfect, real-world data and taking ownership of data quality and reliability.
  • Background or interest in energy systems, HVAC, or building automation is a plus, but not required.
  • Autonomous, structured, and reliable, with a strong sense of responsibility for delivered solutions.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to communicate technical concepts clearly in English.
  • Motivation to contribute to a product with measurable impact on energy efficiency and sustainability.

Hiring process

  • First meeting with the founders: confirm culture & ambitions.
  • Technical assessment: test your coding skills, data structuring knowledge, and ability to translate building efficiency needs into actionable software solutions.
  • Offer: join and start making a tangible impact on the energy transition.
